Heather's Graduation Party

The graduate herself and our cousin, Joel

Graduation party for 150 guest?!?!?!?!? Me panic never... okay maybe a little but then I started to get excited for the great challenge. What would we eat? what would we do for entertainment? Where would we sit? then the ideas started to flow.... My awesome husband the handyman that he is built a 60' x 40' pergola/ arbor for our wedding two years ago. The perfect location for this lovely event.

The food was AWESOME...... tri tip, made by my mom (simply delicious), potatoe salad made by my aunt Sandy (best ever), rice pilaf and macaroni salad made by my aunt Mel (also best ever)
and a green salad bar with about every topping you could imagine..... a lot of team work and the food turned our wonderfully.
Here the guests are enjoying the GREAT food...

Favors were zebra striped cello bags filled with tattoos, a squirt gun, pop rocks candy (to match her rockstar theme), and custom "I heart HP" buttons.
A fun alternative to advice cards, I purchased a photo box , cut a slit, made a sign and created serveral different cards for guests to fill out. Each card had a different fill in the blank line. ("If i could give you anything in the world it would be_____________________________"). Just kinda different from the usual leave your best piece of advice for our graduate.
To go with the theme I made a guitar cake; strawberry cake with chocolate frosting.

For a unique twist, I designed a banner to sign instead of a guest book. It came out beautifully.

More posts on this party to come.... stay tuned!

Open House

After a few months in our new home we were finally ready to have our open house. The week of I was running around like crazy trying to get every home project on my long list done. But of course I was attempting the impossible. After achieving about 3/4 of my list I started to think about all the food that I still had to prepare!! If I wouldn't have had help from my wonderful nieces, we probably would have had to order pizza! All that said all the food was prepped and ready by the time the first guest arrived. Panini Sandwiches !!!! Special sauces... sun dried tomato basil mayo and lemon basil mayo.....They were awesome..... everyone loved them.... and the best part of having the party was that I had a reason order myself a new kitchen gadget... the Breville Ikon Panini Press from Williams Sonoma. It is AMAZING!

The inspiration for this party came from an inspiration board I found online. The color
scheme was bright red, navy blue, turquoise and yellow. I found the perfect checkered fabric for table cloths at Wal Mart for $1.50 a yard. (can't beat that with a stick) I used 2.5 yards to cover each table.
More pictures to come.....

Sweet Side Note:
My family decided to surprise me with a chocolate lab puppy.. I guess since getting a chocolate lab is all I could talk about for the past few months... her name is Bella and is so precious! Here is a little clip of Bruno meeting Bella for the first time. He was so excited!

Take Home Esti

A friend of mine has started her very own business here locally. I had the pleasure of creating business cards and a brochure for her.

Inside
Back
She just had her first spa party. Cucumber water.... relaxing soothing music.... aroma therapy candles....
it was amazing!! I had never had a facial before and her mini demonstration left me wanting to book an appoinment, so I did.  I can't wait to host my very own spa party. Mini facials for all.... I'll be sure to post pictures!

Pasta Brunch: Description Markers

These markers were used for the various pastas that were made. I baked the Spicy Italian Sausage Casserole and the Chicken Alfredo Casserole. The other two casseroles I had volunteers bring. They were all great recipes. Delicious food and great friends makes for a great time had by all.

Anniversary Dinner

I love everything to do with food; cooking, new recipes, baking. EATING and I guess it truly shows. Back in April I had the privilege of catering a romantic anniversary dinner for 2. The menu started with fried raviolis, that led into dinner; Sicilian steak, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, homemade Alfredo sauce over fresh fettuccine pasta accompanied with garlic butter french bread. Delish! and Tiramisu for dessert!

Tynia & Nick's Vineyard Invitations

So here they are the first invitations that I have had the honor of creating for a wedding. A friend of mine was kind enough to reccommend me to her friend that is getting married this October. We met, brainstormed and collectively created these amazing invitations to set the theme of her vineyard/ tuscan wedding. It was a fun project and the bride loved them. Thanks Marina for believing in me and pushing me to go for my dream job.
